Loved and identified with all Totto’s antics! Not having had pups around since sweet Tasmania (Tas) arrived in 2000 and dear Tex came home with us in 1994. A after two trips back so Justin could play with and love ‘his puppy,’ the breeder’s response to his, “Isn’t he big enough to go home today?” was a resigned, “Take him!”
It was weeks later, after Tex’s AKC papers arrived that we realized our ‘big’ pup had only been five weeks old when he came to live with us, and I finally understood why the little rescal simply could not sleep unless he was resting on or against his master’s chest!!
Being a Maltese, Tassie was such a delicate little girl. Other than taking off down the street, when I was distracted doing yard work, she’d play nicely with her toys, the perfect little lady, so in reality, it had been over 12 years since I’d had to deal with anything like the ‘Texas Terror’ but Tex had not prepared us for Gabriel (Gabe), alias, ‘The Shredder!!’
I can certainly identify with how much you miss Totto! Gabe is still that bundle of energy, keeping us in stitches watching his joyful antics! He amuses us most with his ‘blankie,’ which is, in reality, a small delicate pink bath rug! You cannot help but giggle aloud!!
Laying on his back, heholds it up over his head, as if he’s admiring it, supporting it directly over his face with his outstretched front paws, he then, brings it down to touch it with his mouth, but never chews on it nor rips at it, treating this precious toy with the utmost care as he becomes more loving with it.
He will eventually bring it down and hold it up under his chin, rub it against the sides of his face or just hold it close to him. I guess it’s so endearing because it’s a delicate looking pink rug! That, and his beloved stuffed Tiger, are the only doggy toys, (and other things that were never intended to be doggy toys) he’s not rough on!
It always amazes me how quickly the most courtly or serene of our canine companions become accepting of a puppy, like Totto, and how it is rarely necessary to attempt to keep them away from our eldest statesmen! The most menacing appearing Rottweiler (to the homo sapiens) will soon be laying there, back-to-back, in perfect harmony with your happy-go-lucky big pup!
We quickly remember those challenges of puppy proofing, but never want to forget to thank you for the joys of that young life that you brought into our home, as we relish all the fun of watching their silliest and most endearing antics!!

There is no one who is better at saving all of the future “loves” of our lives. Like I have Andrew and Hina (Lucy & Gigi, too), without Terry who know’s where these poor little Bouv’s would have ended up.
We cannot wait to get Andrew’s new girlfriend home and settled. Everyone in my little pack will be happy to receive her. Like Terry said, Wait until you see her in about 3 months.
Love is Terry Minda helping all of these lost souls. I appreciate what she has put into my life,………………..My dogs!!!
So far, so good Terry. How about a shot of your yard? Only kidding.
I just found your site today and like what I see. Can’t wait to find more bouvs tho.
Going in for hip replacement tomorrow, so will be out for several weeks.
Happy Blogging
